Conversation
This week spend time as a family connecting with God through conversation. Conversation is when you ask Him questions, and He speaks to you. It is easy to hear God when you are in His presence.

Scripture:
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7Activation:
Make a list of questions or topics to talk to God about. Create a note in your phone or have a specific journal where you write out your questions. Ask Him out loud to speak to you about your questions and topics.Table Talk: Talk about the topics you wrote down, why you wrote them down, and what you heard the Lord say and reveal.

Scripture: If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. James 1:5-6
Activation: Where are you needing wisdom? Ask God for His wisdom in those areas. Dialogue with the Holy Spirit as you are asking and as He responds.
Table Talk:
As a family, what areas are you needing wisdom? Talk about them together and pray for them as a family. -
Scripture:
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8-9Activation:
What is overwhelming you? Talk to the Lord about it. You can enter into freedom by talking to the Lord and releasing what is burdening you. Ask Him where you put your attention. What are the true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, and things worthy of praise that He wants your thoughts and attention to be on?Table Talk:
How can you remember to think about these things throughout your day? Share your ideas with each other. -
Scripture: But, as it is written, ‘What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him’—these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 1 Corinthians 2:9-11
Activation: Invite the Holy Spirit into your thoughts and write down what thoughts come up as you are spending time with Him. Ask Him to reveal the secret and deep things of God and write down what He shows you.Table Talk:
What has the Holy Spirit been showing you in scripture? Talk about the conversations with God that have led to more understanding and share what you are asking the Lord to reveal more of. -
Scripture: And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, ‘I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’ Acts 13:22
Activation: Ask the Holy Spirit this question: “What is on Your heart today?” Ask more questions as you hear His response and be willing to follow where He leads the conversation.Table Talk:
Take a time of authenticity to share with each other what is on your hearts. Is anyone upset with anyone at the table? Does anyone feel any weight in life that they want to share? Close the time by offering everything up to God. -
Scripture:
Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! Psalm 46:10Activation:

Am I in Your perfect will?
Is there anything that I am doing that I should not be doing anymore?
Is there anything that I am not doing that I should be?
Table Talk:
Share with each other what “being still” with God looks like for you. Ask each other what it means to know that God is God? -
Scripture:
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Psalm 8:3-4Activation:
Daily conversations are the foundation of a good relationship. When you connect with God, you are entering into a two-way conversation. You are not just telling the Lord what is on your mind, but you are hearing what is on His. Don’t get frustrated if you don’t hear right away. Keep asking Him questions. God delights in your questions. You can ask Him anything! There is nothing too big or too small to ask Him. God may speak to you through a thought, scripture, vision or dream. Remember, God’s answers will never contradict what His word says in Scripture. Continue your conversations by reading what His word says. While conversation with God is impactful, make sure this is not the only thing you do to connect with God. Set aside intentional time to pray, worship, and read your BibleTable Talk:
Share with each other times when you have felt most seen or acknowledged by another in the family. Secondly, share when and how you have felt most seen by God.
